Blame and Backlash Grow as Air India Crash Report Faces Delay

A year after the deadly accident of Air India in which 260 individuals perished, it was announced by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of India that their report is still not prepared. On June 12, 2025, Flight 171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner traveling from Ahmedabad to London, crashed into the hospital building just after takeoff, resulting in the deaths of 241 people on board and 19 on land. It was discovered that the engines stopped working due to the sudden switching off of fuel control in preliminary reports. In addition to this, leaked recordings of the cockpit showed that the pilots were wondering about who switched off the control. Despite heavy criticism for the senior pilot, Capt. Sumeet Sabharwal, pilots’ unions and the father of the captain strongly support him.
